Soccer Game Number Two

Well, this week was the second soccer game for Lindsey. (they played last week, but Lindsey missed the game because of The Lion King). Lindsey's team wears orange and so does the other team we played, so the girls had to wear these green vests so they wouldn't get confused. Lindsey's kept falling off her because she is so small! The girls lost again, but did a lot better! Lindsey even kind of scored a goal... she was kicking the ball toward the goal and then the other team kicked it in our goal... so I guess you can say she had an assist!

Lion King Roars Into Memphis

Last weekend we took Lindsey and Me Me to see The Lion King on stage in Memphis. It was Lindsey's second time to see it. She really liked it. She says her favorite part was "every part."

Lindsey's first soccer game was this past Saturday...the girls decided to call their team the terrible tigers. The games are played with 4 girls (all age 6) and the games are about an hour long. Lindsey got to play a lot, but she started out really timid. As the game went on she got better and better.... taking the ball away from the other team. BUT the other team was REALLY good. I was impressed with the talent of some of those 6 year old girls. Lindsey's team lost 16-2!!! But what was great is the girl's didn't care... they all had so much fun and Lindsey can't wait for the next game!

Lindsey Loses Her First Tooth

Lindsey finally lost her first tooth. She has been asking when she was going to do so. She actually had two teeth come up behind two of her baby teeth... both babies were loose, but so far only one has come out. The first one that came out fell out while she was at school in her old kindergarten room. Mrs. Daniel taped it to the Happy Gram you see above. She was very excited... especially after the tooth fairy came and gave her money. She hasn't decided what she was going to do with the money.

Lindsey decided that she wanted to play soccer this fall. It is her first time to play. She is on a team with 5 other girls.... they will play 4 on 4 games that start this Saturday. She loves it so far, even though they've only had one practice. I'll keep you updated.

This week was Lindsey's first day of 1st grade. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were taking her to pre-k. I'm sure before we know it she'll be graduating from college! She wasn't nervous at all... she actually ran in her classroom as I was talking to one of her teachers in the hall. She is back in class with her friend Jacob. They weren't in the same class last year, but they had been in the same class every other year since her 2 year old room at her old school. So far she won't tell me what she has done in class... she keeps saying "I don't want to talk about it."
