Christmas 2006

Christmas morning Lindsey didn't get up too early.... we got to sleep until 7:45am! When she got up she was greeted by a 4 foot inflatable santa and a bunch of gifts. Her big gift from Santa was a HUGE Barbie doll house complete with an elevator. She also got a robopet, more moon sand, and a Little Mermaid carriage. After we opened gifts we spent the rest of the morning and afternoon putting gifts together and playing with them.

Christmas Eve 2006

On Christmas eve we went to my brother's house to celebrate the holiday with my mother's family. Lindsey got one of the gifts she had been wanting for months... Moon Sand! After my brother's house, we went to MeMe and Granddad's house for a HUGE dinner and to open presents with my parents. Lindsey got a TON of toys including a racecar track, a dinosaur mountain, and and easy bake oven. (as you can tell she is very well rounded with boys and girl's toys!) We're going to have to move to another house because of all the stuff she got. She won't be bored for months!

Channel 4 Christmas Show

This year channel 4 decided to revive an old tradition at the station. It's a show where the children of employees get to come sit on santa's lap and get a gift and it's made into a show that we air on Christmas. Our weekend meteorologist, Jason, acted as the host. I was afraid that Lindsey wasn't going to sit in santa's lap because she never has before. But for the first time in her life, she did! The stuffed animal you see in the picture is a dog that she recently got at Build-a-Bear workshop that she INSISTED on taking with her to sit on Santa's lap. She actually asked if she could go say goodbye to him when it was all over, so we did. Then, when Laurie was leaving, Lindsey kept looking on the roof of our station and asking "are his reindeer up there?" For those who live in the area, you can watch the show at noon on Christmas day.

Lindsey's Kindergarten Christmas Party

On the last day of school Lindsey's classroom had a Christmas party. I got to leave work to go to it. Her teacher put me to work when I got there. I got to help the kids make Christmas wreaths. That was an adventure! The other things they got to do were make a reindeer Christmas ornament, make a bookmark with their picture on it, make a garland out of berries, and of course, EAT!

Making A Gingerbread House

This past Saturday our cousin Emily came over to spend some time with Lindsey. She ended up making a gingerbread house with Lindsey and Laurie.

Lindsey's Birthday Party

Lindsey's 6th birthday party was at a skating rink. A BUNCH of kids came... I think I counted 35. Friends from her new school, old school, and our neighborhood all came to the party. It was fun to watch all of them try to roller skate.... and all of us parents try to remember how to roller skate! For the kids who did not know how to roller skate, the rink allowed us to tell them to bring bikes. So in addition to kids falling down while trying to skate... there were kids zipping by on bikes. After all the kids rolled around on whatever they chose, we ate her Barbie birthday cake and opened a ton of gifts.

Lindsey Turns 6!

Friday December 8th Lindsey turned 6. I cannot belive she is already 6. We got her some Chrstmas DVDs, a Christmas book, and some clothes with a stuffed dog that had a sweater on like one we bought Lindsey.

Christmas Parade 2006

On Saturday we went to the Little Rock Christmas parade. It was COLD... in the upper 30's. You can see Lindsey was bundled up. She didn't complain at all. She just couldn't wait to see the floats and marching bands. This year she became a professional at running out in the street to get candy. After the parade, we stuck around for the lighting of the state capitol and the fireworks.

Decorating The Tree

Thanksgiving weekend it's a family tradition to decorate our tree. Lindsey loved this. She really helped this year putting many, many ornaments on the tree.

Decorating The House

Thanksgiving weekend we decorated the house for Christmas. Lindsey decided she wanted to help me put lights on the outside of the house. That lasted for about 10 minutes and then she got bored. She went over to a friend's house to play!

Father/Daughter Dance

Lindsey's school had a Father/Daughter dance on Friday night, the night after the Sugar Plum dance (see post below). This one was less formal, as you can see. We had a really good time again. Lindsey spent most of the time running around with her friends, but she did dance with me a few times. She also had fun dancing with Bethany, one of Laurie's teacher friends.

Lindsey Dances At Sugar Plum Ball

Tonight Lindsey and I went to the Sugar Plum Ball that benefits cancer patients. Lindsey had a lot of fun. Most of the night she didn't want to dance with me. She wanted to dance with our morning meteorologist's daughter, Cameron. She spent the night chasing her around! However, she did dance with me some. She kept asking me to throw her in the air.

Mary's 2nd Birthday Party

The daughter of one of my co-workers, Mary, turned 2 in November. They had a party for her in their front yard with a big bouncy dinosaur. When we pulled up to the party Lindsey said "Cool, Super cool!" She had a blast bouncing around with all the kids.

Carving Pumpkins For Halloween

Laurie and Lindsey carved three pumpkins to put outside our house for Halloween. If you look closely at the picture of the three finished pumpkins... you can see a little pumpkin that Lindsey painted that she insisted on sitting with the others. She called them "the mommy, daddy, and brother to the baby pumpkin."
