Benjamin and Justin's Birthday Party

Benjamin and Justin are twins who were in Lindsey's kindergarten room this past school year. Today they had their 6th birthday party at Lake Nixon. Lindsey got to play in the sand, swim, and slide down a big slide in to the lake.

For two weeks in July Lindsey attended a summer school called Summer Laureate University for Youth or SLUFY. It's for gifted kids from all over the state who are in K-8th grade. They learn a LOT of different things. One of Lindsey's classes taught her about the life cycle of Beetle... which starts as a mealworm. Of course, she got to "grow" one in class and at the end of SLUFY she brought home a box full of worms! She had a lot of fun at SLUFY and cannot wait to do it again next year.

Lindsey took swimming lessons again this summer. She isn't quite swimming yet, but she can tread water now for a few seconds and can hold her breath under water now for a few seconds.

Scrapbooking Class

Laurie signed Lindsey up for a kid's scrapbooking class this summer so she would have something to do. One of Lindsey's old friends from years ago happened to be in the class, Gracie! In one of the classes they decorated the paint bucket you see... it's for them to fill up with their scrapbooking stuff.

Lindsey's First Phone Call From A Friend

Lindsey has joined a chat room/game room for kids. She loves it and plays a little on it every day. She has one of her neighborhood friends, Kevin, hooked on it, too. The other night he called her and they talked on the phone while playing the internet game for about 30 minutes. It was SO cute. It was her first phone conversation... at age 6! Next... she'll be driving.....

Last week we went to Grannie's nursing home for their beauty pageant. She was up against about 10 other women. She looked great! She had to answer a few questions in front of everyone and she did great. She did so well that she won! They gave her a shash and crown and everything. Up next for her is the regional competition in a few months.
